Irena Hadzi Dordevic is a Serbian-born scenic designer and art director whose work spans film, television, and theater. She holds a BA in Theater and Film Scenography from the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade and an MFA in Stage Design from Northwestern University in Chicago, which she completed in 2021.
Her design work is deeply character-driven, informed by a multidisciplinary background and a strong foundation in the visual and performing arts.
Since relocating to the United States, Irena has worked extensively in the film industry, serving as art director on a number of feature films, and has contributed as a scenic designer to theatrical productions, most notably with Chicago Opera Theater.
In early 2024, Irena was accepted into the Art Directors Guild Local 800 (IATSE)
Her professional experience includes productions across Illinois, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Arizona, and California, as well as international work in Iceland, Bosnia, and Serbia.
