Taking the Reins is a Hallmark romantic drama starring Nikki DeLoach, Scott Porter, Corbin Bernsen, and Janine Turner. The film follows a writer who returns to her family’s horse ranch to rediscover her passion for riding—and love—just in time for a major equestrian event.
I served as Art Director under Production Designer Shane Meador. In this role, I was responsible for developing and delivering the graphics package and build plans for the production. One of the key projects I oversaw was the design and construction of a newspaper stand built to mimic the iconic stands found in Central Park, New York, ensuring it captured the film’s balance of authenticity and romantic charm. I collaborated closely with the construction and scenic teams to ensure all elements were executed accurately, on time, and in harmony with the film’s visual tone.
