Sand Dollar Cove is a Hallmark romantic drama starring Aly Michalka, Chad Michael Murray, Clare Bowen, and Glynnis O’Connor. The story follows a real estate developer who travels to a seaside town to acquire beachfront property for a new resort, only to be captivated by the town’s charm—and by the local resident fighting to preserve its history.
I served as Art Director under Production Designer Shane Meador. In this role, I was responsible for developing and delivering the graphics package, construction drawings, and design concepts for the production. One of the main projects I oversaw was the Sand Castle Competition scene, for which I designed and fabricated eight 5-foot-tall sand castles within a two-week period. The project required creative problem-solving to ensure structural stability, visual variety, and consistency with the film’s coastal aesthetic. I collaborated closely with the scenic and construction teams to achieve a believable and charming seaside festival atmosphere that enhanced the film’s romantic tone.
